Fast Dental Implants

Developed by Nobel Biocare, Teeth-in-an-Hour™ is a revolutionary concept in which a restorative dentist and an oral surgeon collaborate to provide patients with fully functioning teeth on dental implants in a single procedure that takes about an hour. This merging of knowledge and experience achieves not only increased safety but also a more precise implant placement. In addition, the fabrication of a final prosthesis is completed prior to the surgery. The computer-guided implant surgery is done in an arthroscopic fashion without requiring any flap reflection. This benefits the patient in that there is less postoperative discomfort, less swelling, and less bruising. Patients can often resume their normal activities the next day.

Process

A CAT scan of the patient’s jawbone generates a three-dimensional model that can be used with virtual reality software to plan the implant placement without the patient’s presence. During the surgery, the oral surgeon places the implants. The pre-made prosthesis is then secured, giving the patient fully functional teeth immediately after the procedure.

FAQ

  • What are the advantages of Teeth-in-an-Hour™ compared to traditional implants?

Teeth-in-an-Hour™ offers several advantages over traditional implants, including:

    • Speed: The entire procedure is completed in about an hour, providing immediate, fully functional teeth, whereas traditional implants can take several months.
    • Minimally Invasive: Computer-guided surgery eliminates the need for large incisions, reducing discomfort, swelling, and recovery time.
    • Immediate Function: Patients leave the procedure with permanent teeth in place, unlike traditional implants, where temporary restorations are often required during the healing period.
    • Precision: Advanced 3D planning ensures highly accurate implant placement, reducing the risk of complications and improving long-term success.
  • Is Teeth-in-an-Hour™ suitable for everyone?

Teeth-in-an-Hour™ may not be suitable for everyone. Candidates must have sufficient bone density to support dental implants, and their overall oral health must be in good condition. Patients with significant bone loss, untreated gum disease, or certain medical conditions may not be ideal candidates and may require additional treatments or a different approach. A thorough evaluation by a dental professional is necessary to determine eligibility.

  • What can I eat after getting Teeth-in-an-Hour™?

After the Teeth-in-an-Hour™ procedure, it’s best to stick to a soft food diet for the first few days to avoid putting pressure on the newly placed implants. Soft foods like yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies, applesauce, and scrambled eggs are ideal during the initial healing period. As your mouth adjusts, you can gradually reintroduce more solid foods, but it’s essential to follow your surgeon’s guidance to ensure optimal healing and implant stability.
